viral

You are currently browsing the archive for the viral category.

It all started with “A million ways,” in 2006. That was just an amazing coreography, not many ideas but just a very simple, lo-fi dancing act. Millions of views. A perfect viral.

Then there was the treadmills video, “here it goes again”. Cool idea, cool realization.

Still, I always had the impression that Ok Go were too hyped, the usual Youtube shooting star with just one good idea.

I loved the latest video like “The incredible machine videogame” for “This too shall pass”

An Hypnotic loop, an amazing example of street art animation by Blu and David Ellis. Shot in an old house in Puglia, southern Italy, in a week total. Amazing job as usual, Blu a true artist. Chek out MUTO or his website for more. I wonder when this tecnique is gonna be picked up by advertisement.

Susan Boyle is back. This time starring in a one-minute teaser for the videogame “The Sims 3″, in stores on the 2nd of June. From “Britain got talent” to Youtube phenomenon, Susan is now also a star in The Sims world. She gets a call from Barak Obama, she is signing autographs, she is performing solo on stage. All made with the (not so good looking, I have to say) Sims graphics.
Good way of getting free advertisement even for non-gamers. Basically, free buzz.

Good luck Susan!

Another stop-motion. I know, I can seem obsessed, but that’s my favourite technique. Funny how this is considered the first Google commercial  that has been aired on TV, like CNBC and ABC cable channels. As Micheal Learmont is saying here, Google started the Chrome campaign with 11 small firms, creating 11 short movies to be promoted mainly on Youtube at Google Chrome Channel. Strategy is changing, and Google is starting to focus on traditional media such as newspapers and magazines.

There’s also a Zooppa contest that just finished, trying to push User Generated Advertisement.

Featurette from the new Sacha Baron Cohen movie, Bruno, where he will be playing a gay austrian model. Should be good fun.

This teaser trailer is similar to the Borat ones: very funny, very irriverent, very effective. And very funny, when you don’t care about how politically uncorrect you can be.

This is Meet Bruno. The second video is my favourite Borat “teaser trailer” (if that can be called this public answer).
