what a lovely commercial, they got back on track after a few redundant ads. And I love the Mac Gyver PC man. Still, it’s not really focusing on any Apple product. The PC man is still the main guy here

Time Magazine just published the 10 biggest technological flops of the last 10 years. Interesting how a lot of them were subject for a post here on this blog. YouTube, for example, and its money-eater technology (YouTube would have to triple its revenue just to breakeven) is in a very recent post (here). Let’s take a look at the chart:
Windows Vista, no surprise, is first. Then we have some obvious picks, like the 1 billion dollar burner HD-Dvd, Microsoft Zune (just a bit more than a million devices sold), Segway (what were they thinking?), and Iridium (satellite phones), one of the worse bankrupcy in US history. Funny how the most popular website in the world and the most common OS are, in fact, to be considered failures.

I always liked Apple vs Mac campaign. After 30 (maybe more?) commercials, and almost three years of airing, shoudln’t be time for something a little bit different?
If I consider the average audience (basically all the non-Apple-maniacs), I think basically everyone likes the Pc guy more than the Mac guy. He’s funnier, he’s ironical, he’s always the center of attention.
Mac guy is just on the side, looking cool, but not really an interesting character. Justin Long does not help either. And for how long are they going to concentrate on the competitor before concentrating on themselves?
